Strong beer
True to its name, the Weyermann® Imperial Stout is a classic example of a British strong dark ale. A firm Cappuccino-like head rides atop the opaque, ebony brew. Upfront, the beer emanates delicate and enticing aromas of licorice; in the back, it finishes with warming notes of alcohol. On the palate, this deep black ale has a substantial mouthfeel. It also delivers unmistakable tastes of dark, bitter chocolate, fine cacao, as well as some gentle roastiness. There are also hints of coffee and vanilla, reminiscent of Kahlua, the Mexican liqueur. Overall, this brew is well-balanced with a restrained bitterness and an equally restrained residual sweetness, which makes for a delicious sipping beer.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, best before September 2025. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of cocoa, coffee, toasted hazelnut and light vanilla. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty, moderately bitter taste of roasted grains, coffee, burnt bread crust, licorice and roasted hazelnut, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effercescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pretty decent Stout, a little too one-dimensional maybe.

Bottle says 8.0%. Roast, caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Black colored. Malty sweet, caramelly, yet roasty flavor with raisin. Easy drinker, alcohol well hidden. Nice one.

330ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye. One-finger thick, bubbly, tan head to a jet black body. Spotty lacing. Aroma of dark dough, almond and caramel, inviting. Likable taste of slightly roasted brown malts, hints of nuts, prunes and raisin with dark fruits towards the ending. Integrated alcohol. Clean and velvety smooth in the mouth. Pleasant. Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Gilad. Black with brown foam. Roasty aroma with a bit of hops. Bittersweet flavor, roasty, with some coffee and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Intensiv malziger Antrunk mit intensiven Schokoladennoten. Dazu passend bitter, vollmundig, lecker. Röstig, wenig hefig, dann intensiver malzig werdend, röstig. Dennoch spritzig, leicht herb, stärker bitter. Gut! 12/12/11/12/10/12
