Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 18E, adapted). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 0205. AROMA: slight roasted aroma with sweet, malty background. significant esters reminiscent of dark fruits like dried figs or grapes. low to none hop aromas. APPEARANCE: dark amber color with a lot of sediment. average tanned head with good retention. low lacing. TASTE: sweet malty background with roasted notes. some flavours of dried fruits and cocoa. low bitterness with a sweet finish. PALATE: medium body with a velvety texture. medium-high carbonation. OVERALL: a belgian dark strong ale that would be better without the roasted flavours.

Bottle Cloudy dark brown, offwhite layer. Abbey/dubel yeast aroma, raisins, citrus, dry spices - clove, allspice Medium body, dry sparkly mouthfeel. Fruityness on the palate which puts in a good bottom. Minerally yeast notes followed by a good citric and flowery hop finish. Feel a little bit raw at the start, but is nice and rounded in the end. Give it a bit more time and it should be lovely
