Kalea Advent Calendar. Vague malty aroma. Black. Thin beige head. Light bitter core but over this there's a sweetness - burmt sugar and boiled sweets. A return to bitterness in the coffee finish Medium bodied. Slick. A fizz of carb. Long but low key finish. I find it really drinkable.

Bottle. Color: Very dark brown, light brown head. Taste: Roasted malta, toast, smooth, watery. Very little bitterness. Below medium carbonation and body. Not bad, but there are many much better porters.

Bottle. Black. Decent head. Aroma is rather weak. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Taste follows aroma and also features some pumpernickel. Sweetish. Watery. Medium carbonation. Could easily be mistaken for a Schwarzbier. But for a Porter from Germany it’s quite alright.

Bottle. Light chocolate and coffee, but mostly soft aromas. Body is medium with a decent sweetness over a matching bitterness, smooth carbonation. Good harmony. Tasty. Nice!

Pours dark brown, topped with a rather small and non-lasting tan head. Mild chocolate aroma with some unpleasant smelly grains wit hstale feel. Taste is mildly sweet, little bit of chocolate. Light body. Straightforward dark lager taste.

Well more a Schwarzbier than a porter. But good drinkable. Chocolate aroma hints in the malt body and slight hop aroma in the end.

Pours dark brown into the bottle with a creamy crown that rapidly dissolves. Weak aroma of caramel malts and sawdust. Taste is strongly caramel with a lightly sweet aftertaste that could be, with some generosity, described as brown sugar. Fails to develop further and becomes rather monotone. Not altogether unpleasant, and better than some dark lagers. Not what some might expect for a beer labeled ’porter’.

Bottle from Bier-Advent Kalender, Switzerland
Dark chestnut color, clean, with medium sized compact head. Some caramel aroma and flavor, rather dry but soft mouthfeel, a bit sweeter in the final, with ordinary bitterness, and light sourness. Clean like a Lager, no top fermentation esters.
Pleasant, more Dunkel than Porter though.
