Tap at Qbrick. This time was right. Muddy dark brown with a fine, thick head. Nice nose of banana and clove, light chocolate. Rich, sweet, spicy flavor. Light chocolate malts, rich weizen notes. Full and nice. Bottle, off: 5/3/4/3/9=2.4. Nose of burnt chocolate, malt, medicine. Very medicinal flavor, like Chinese medicine, with a big of wheat, some undefined chocolate, no banana or clove. Weird. Thought it was off for sure, but the importer said "that’s how it should taste." I doubt it, but this will stand until I try it again. Vry strange and nasty.

With sediment this beer pours a cloudy brown, with airy head. Initial lively carbonation keeps yeast boiling in glass. Head dissipates quickly. Aroma is sweet, apples, raisins, pumpernickel. Taste is also sweet, and mouthfeel kind of light. Sweetness is the one knock I have against this beer, else it’s pretty good.

Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and dried fruit. Creamy mouthfeel. Sweetish flavour of malt, raisins and caramel. A subtle buttery note. Dryish aftertaste. Quite decent. [Past BBD. Needs re-rating.]

Refrigerated 0.5 L bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours translucent medium brown with fluffy beige head. Thick lacing, medium body, medium carbonaon, and roasted banana aroma. Taste is roasted malt, banana, and bread. Pretty good.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Sligthly hazy dark reddish brown colour, big off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, dark fruits, banana, raisins, cloves. Flavour is sweet, malty, spicy, mainly cloves, nutmeg, banana, dark fruits, raisins, light bittersweet malty finish. Light to medium bodied, overcarbonated, which makes this beer hard to drink.

11/12/12/12/12/12

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is caramel malts with a nice roast and earth. Flavor is again a nice caramel malt with some toffee and spice. No real clove which i was looking for. This is the fourth beer from this brewer I’ve had and they have all been above par. A little more expensive then the normal German beers you get around here but well worth the price.
