Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, caramel and hints of roast and licorice in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweet. Full bodied. Low on carbon. Nice.

Bottle @ home. Hazy dark brown color with a slight red hue coming through when held into the light, medium sized light brown head. Aroma is a bit faint initially. Taste malts, light roast, dark malts, a bit metallic, lightly bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Hmm ok beer.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Sweet malt aroma with some milk chocolate. Sweet taste. Quite thin body for a RIS. Not the fat Russian that was promised on the label, lacks body and roastiness.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2016) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, cacao, sticky chocolate cake and a generous roasty bitterness. Almost full body, quite sweet. A bit too sweet for an imperial stout, but really tasty with lots of chocolate. Very nice.

Tap @ Arendsnest, sample size. Clear dark red-brown color. Dense beige head with reasonable retention. Aroma’s of toasted bread, light drop/licorice, some laurel/bay leaves. Retronasal it’s droppy, sugar, light red fruit. Flavor is moderate to full sweet, malty. Medium bodied. Not much going on in the finish. OK quad. Oh, wait...

On tap at Winterbierfestival Wormer. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of sweet bready malts, wort, veggies, yeast, liquorice. Yeah... Flavour is sweet, milky, veggies, toffee, fake milk chocolate. Too sweet, not enough roast, far from an Imperial Stout.
