Malty and mostly clean, some dms, seems “cellared” like a keller, but it’s crisp and caramelly malt forward.

Bottle, bought as Falkenfelser Maibock. Amber color. Soft soapy aroma with hints of candi sugar. Malty sweet, floral, slightly perfumed flavor. Sticky mouthfeel. Short aftertaste. Thinnish. Mediocre bock.

Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from local ’Netto’ as ’Falkenfelser Maibock’, best before September 2017. Clear, dark reddish amber with a thin, foamy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly malty and a bit boozy aroma of caramel, some honey and a touch of alcohol. Quite sweet, malty taste of caramel, some honey, a touch of red fruits and hints of nuts, followed by a medium long, quite bitter and boozy finish. Medium body, minimally creamy and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Not very refined, but still drinkable.

Bottle. Brown amber, Fluffy off-white head, lively carbonation. Sweet caramel-roasted aroma. Medium full dry body, grassy hops peeking through the toasted base, enough bitterness to cut through the honey roasted base.

Bottle(Nette Gabe von Sabine!): Deep golden with copper spots, clear, small and stable and lacy off-white head; brown bread, sugar and caramel in the mild nose, supported by bittering hops; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, but pretty light bodied for a Bock - similar to the Bocks from the GDR ; lingering bitter and malty finish. Not a great beer, but an easy-drinking Heller Bock…

Bottle looks better than other Falkenfelser beers. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts strong and spicy, a bit sourish, modest alcoholic background. Finish still very spicy, a bit earthy. Too unbalanced I think. But still better than other Falkenfelser beers!
