Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured almost black in colour with a thin, broken off-white head. The aroma is big cacao. No room for anything else. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, light chocolate, yeasty, grainy, herbal, light floral palate. Over medium bodied with flat carbonation. Great aroma but the beer really fell apart after that. Unbalanced and not pleasant at all. The brewery is going downhill!

Cask @ Salopian, the pub. Pours dark, small beige head. Decent fudgey chocolate brownie impressions on the nose, continuing to taste. Quite refreshing to taste these flavours in a sessionable cask beer, rather than a 12% number. Decent.
