We were inspired by our trip to the city of Bamberg in Germany, and named this rauchbier after the town hall in Bamberg. It was a beautiful and inspirational spot with so many delicious smoked lagers.

We started with a base of Vienna, Helles, Munich, and Pecan smoked barley from Epiphany Craft Malt, We hopped it in kettle with German Tettnanger hops. After fermentation was complete, we gave it 5 weeks in our medium toast foeder. This beer is smokey, yet balanced. It has a beautiful rounded malt flavor with a crisp finish.

Tap at MBCC, day two. Malatanagsulyos lager kenyeres, kekszes, kisse toasty jegyekkel es (szvsz tulsagosan) visszafogott fusttel. Kerek es konnyen ihato, de jobban adta volna tobb fustosseggel.

Pint can thanks to hershiser2! 12/26/22. Hazy dark orange, medium off-white head, average retention. Aroma of toast, apricot, lemon. Taste is smoke, lemon, tea, apricot. Bright, well balanced. Nice.

Tap@MBCC 2022, Copenhagen (14/05/2022) - Grassy hoppy and toasted and sweet malty, burnt straw and hay, medium to light body, bitter hoppy finish.

Pint can, WW. Hazy orange with a small off-white head. Nose is green wood, light smoke, browning grasses. Was hoping for a heavily smoked aroma. Flavor is green wood, faint smoke, bitter leaf. It's good, but I really wanted an in-your-face smoked beer today.
