Die aromatische, dunkle Starkbier-Spezialität aus dem Hause GANTER überzeugt durch ihren einzigartig malzigen Charakter. 50 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden brown to deep orange with a small offwhie head. Aroma is roasted malty and light butterish. Toasted malty, minerals and toasted to breadish malty. Bitter and toasted malty finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy og jaghana. Pours a clear dark amber with a small off-white head. Lovely sweet roast and pumpernickel. Rich body, heavy malt base, burned caramel, nuts - even a little coconut. Subtle bitterness. As a Doppelbock should be! 270612

On tap/draught (I was told when ordering) at the Ganter tap (not the one at the brewery) the one by the cathedral in the centre of town, Freiburg 12-06-10 Pours brown with light/medium carbonation and a thin off-white head. Malty and full bodied, some sweet dark sugars, soft in mouth, tasty alcohol hidden well, bit sticky, some toffee good stuff. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Bottle 500ml. @ home.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly - fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, chocolate, bread, berry. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, dark dried berry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100114]

Bottled(500ml). -Reddish/pale brown coloured, creamy pale beige head, vinous roasty nose with notes of dates. Roasted malty, fruits, dried fruits and chocolate taste with notes of molasses. Alcohol is subdued, a bit too sugary finish but all in all very good dopplebock.

Bottle: Deep amber coloured, small and stable beige frothy layer; moderate to solid caramelly-fruity nose; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; molasses and caramel in the distinctive sweet-bitter finish. Well drinkable Doppelbock........

(bottle) Clear, dark mahogany colour with a thick and dense beige foamy head. Sweet and molassy roast-malty aroma with notes of rock candy, caramel and liquorice. Sweet flavour, full bodied, medium carbonation. Strong dark malty, slightly roasted taste with caramel and molasses, lingering into the lasting malt-accented, moderately roasted finish. Pleasant (28.05.08).

Bottled, thanks Bov! Very dark ruby. Aroma of dates, grass and wood. Medium sweet and near full bodied with very solid malt profil. The dusty urbocj character is accompanied by dark fruits and wood. The restrained sweetness and malt softness makes it relatively drinkable for such a full flavoured, cocnentrated beer.

Bottle. A barnyard/smoky malt aroma - very nice. Dark brown-red color with small head. Slightly acidic tannic initially with complex flavor - smoky malt, chocolate, coffee, and hay and a moderate hops and astringent finish. One of most enjoyable doppelbocks I have ever had - not too biiter/astringent and completely enjoyable.
