Tap @ Ganter Brauereiausschank, Freiburg. Clear dark brown with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and bready. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 110725

It is an excellent doppelbock, One of the best that I drank. The taste is sweet a bit dry, malt, caramel, bread, some hop, 18.03.2017, buying it at Freiburg am Breisgau, drinking it at Lausanne, Prélaz.

Clear chestnut brown colour, beige foam. Nose of sweet dried fruit, caramel, plums, light roastiness. Good Bock.

Ganter Wodan, Flasche, von einem guten Freund aus Freiburg mitgebracht. - Tiefdunkles Kastanienrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase blasse und schwach muffige zitrusfruchtige Noten über leicht säuerlichem dunklen Malz, Anklänge an Maggi. - Antrunk tief dunkel- und röstmalzig mit sirupartigen Melanoidinen, Kräutertee, leichter Zitrusfrucht und Lakritze; dick malzig und gut karamelsüß. Gut rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang satt dunkelmalzig, röstmalzbitter und mit feiner, kühlender Hopfenherbe. - Trotz fetter Dunkelmalzigkeit nicht so recht bocktypisch, unrund und mit zuviel Maggi. Schmeckt mir auch beim zweiten Versuch nicht. (4.1.2022, rev. 9.1.2022.)

From tap at Ganter, dark brown cola like beer, small head. Aroma is malt, sweet, caramel, light roast. Taste is the same, sweet, caramel, malt, light roast, bitter aftertaste with some harshness to it, malty and alcohol taste at the end. Not too bad

bottiglia 50 cl, schiuma beige fine persistente, colore marrone/mogano limpido, al naso subito intenso miele di castagno poi malto tostato zucchero di canna, in bocca ancora miele, miele e miele poi malto caramello fichi secchi uvetta, corpo medio, leggero watery, carbonazione leggera, dolce con amaro moderato. Buona, ben bilanciata, non troppo impegnativa. Va giù bene. c. Bottega della Birra Arona 24.10.20

Bottle from Jaghana, thanks!. Dark brown color. Caramel and sherry notes in the aroma. Malty sweet, bready flavor with sherry notes. Very low on carbon. Seems oxidated, but really is quite delicious.

Draft at BeerAttraction 2019, Rimini, Italy. Pours full amber, fairly brilliant and crisp, with moderate cream-coloured foam, fine. Aroma is generic malty. Body is pretty dense, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium-strong sweet at first, with a little bitterness too, later. Finish is regular.
