500ml bottle [Thanks to the Gi-Ganter of Freiburgian beer dissemination, bartlebier!]. Wonderful, clear, copper-ish chestnut colour with ruby red glimmer and average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, mocha cream head. Mellow, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, some toffee, a nuttily touch. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, intense, almost concentrated maltiness, hints of nougat, toffee. Clean and not too heavy - very nice composition.

Bottle, kindly shared by MisoW, many thanks. red brown color with small beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, dates, figs, fruity syrup. sweet malty taste with ripe red fruits, honey. Sweet, but tasty beer.

Half-litre on 11 Sep 2013 in the Brauereiausschank on Munsterplatz, Freiburg. Ruby brown body, next to no head. Sweet and malty in aroma and taste: I really liked it, but I’m a big Doppelbock fan. Caramel and sweet malty molasses throughout the tasting, with a slight bitter and mini alcoholic kick towards the finish. A very pleasant and easy drinking Doppelbock, the brewery tap being the best place I could have chosen to drink it.

50cl. Thanks Rian for sharing! Der Geruch ist sehr süßlich-malzig. Im Antrunk malzig-süß, Malzbonbon! Der Hauptteil ist vollmundig, angenehm, zum Ende hin harmoniert die malzige Süße wunderbar mit der leichten aufkommenden Herbe. Sehr ausgewogen und süffig, aber kaum komplex. Auf der Zunge bleibt eine angenehme und nicht zu süße Malzbonbon-Note. -->12/12/12/12

bottle, courtesy of jaghana! Deep brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Full-bodied, flavours of roasetd malts, which are very intensive, hints of chocolate and coffee. Superb roast character. Delicious.

Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty bready dark fruit aroma with hints of caramel. Sweetish malty caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a sweetish malty bready caramel and dark fruit finish.
