Drinking more than a glass was too much for me

75cl bottle as part of the BXL Beerfest 2022 pack. F: thin, tanned, average retention. C: black, opaque. A: coconut, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, toffee, nutty, caramel. T: full malty base, oily mouthfeel, chocolate sauce mixed with coconut, nutty, caramel, bit vinous, spicy, dried fruits, coffee, nice balanced bitterness for this huge body, whisky touch, cane sugar, soft carbonation, really delicious for the style, fully enjoyed.

Bottle. Black. Massive sweet coconut, a lot of roasted malts, coffee, earthy, ash even, cocoa, blackberries. Solid sweet and bitter. Full bodied. Lovely, but I can’t drink more than a glass.

Flaska från Etre BXL-pack 2022 drucken med ölföreningen. Belgiska stout är mindre maltiga och blir lätt söta och sportiga. Deg stämmer även på den här pastry stouten på modiga 12,3. Men mest märks kokosen. Rostad och oljig. Dessutom kaffe, tonka, punchpralin och likörhodis med kaffe. Iver the tip är bara förnamnet men kul i små mängder. Glad att dela på 10.

Bottle. Color: Black, no head. Aroma: Roasted coconut, hints of roastedmalt. Taste: Very dense, oily. Very low carbonation. Roasted coconut, molasses, vanilla, some cinnamon, roasted malt in the background. Bit boozy. Medium sweet, moderate to over moderate bitterness. Full body. One of the most dense beers I've ever had. Roasted coconut is overwhelming but not in an annoying way.

New pastry stout by Atrium – and as is so often the case with this creative brewery, inspired by a Brazilian theme, in this case a dessert called ‘cocada’ (a coconut cookie). The brewer’s lovely wife even served actual cocadas at BXL Beerfest to go with the beer – an excellent way of introducing European consumers to the concept. Thick, yellow-beige, membrane-lacing, creamy head on an ink black beer. Aroma of coconut macaroon or indeed the cocada, Bounty candy even, sirop de Liège, burnt muscovado sugar, milk chocolate, fudge, latté macchiato, brandy, hazelnut cookies, granola, tea. Sweet onset but not overly cloying, candied fig and yellow raisin, very light blackberry-ish sourish edge, lively carb (perhaps a bit too lively for the style), very full, oily, rounded mouthfeel. Brown sugar lingers over caramelly, black-chocolatey and peanutty maltiness, but instead of maintaining sweetness, the whole quickly turns towards the dry side, becoming roasted bitter and black coffee-like when the cocada (coconut aroma) sets in. Spicy hops further accentuate the roasted and toasty bitter aspects, warmed by whisky-like alcohol; the bitterness and spiciness are in the end much more powerful than the expected sweetness – making this beer much more bitter than the actual cocada I tasted. In all, a clever and original idea well executed, one of the best and most ambitious Atriums I had in a while – I look forward to cracking the 75 cl bottle of this beer that came with the BXL Beerfest pack.

Bxl õlu #3.Tugev kookoks, tonka, kakao, vanilje, röst, mõrudus, kohv, alks, suhku. Päris tihke kraam, 0.1L oleks hea, 0.75L saab olema väljakutse...
