For this second edition in our Sour Sequence Series we conditioned our typically sour Berliner weisse base (8%) on hefty amounts of raspberries and blackberries. On top of that we added vanilla and lactose. This results in a deep dark hazy red sour ale with pronounced flavors and aromas of the fruits.

CD 14/02. Gorgeous purplish red, some light pink head. Smell is tart, loads of raspberry, some blackberry, light vanilla. Body is firm but light for the ABV, tiny pucker down the throat. Taste is somewhat tart, fruit aplenty, some soft sweetness. Nice.

Pours a deep red to purple colour and a pinkish head with little retention. Aroma's: fruit, berries, sweet & sour, vanilla. Retronasal: sourish, fruit, berries. Flavour is moderate sour, fruity, with hardly any sweetness, despite the lactose. Medium bodied. Alcohol well hidden, goes down very easily, esp. with today's hot weather. Finishes shortly with light bitterness.

22/IV/22 - 44cl can, bought and shared @ el Birrot (Jafre), BB: II/2023, canned: 14/II/22, lot: #21126 (2022-394) Thanks to sebletitje for the amazing pre-wedding party!

Pretty cloudy deep ruby red beer, small creamy irregular aery off-white to light pink head, pretty stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of raspberries, raspberry jam, a hint of vanillin, sweet impression. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty acidic, lots of raspberries, raspberry jam, a little bitter, hint of vanillin. Aftertaste: sourish, lemony, fruity, nice, lots of raspberries, bitter finish.

Wat zoet, zurig, maar heel bijzonder is het ook niet, heeft helemaal niets met bier te maken..
