【名前の由来】
アメリカンホップが席巻するこのクラフトビール界において忘れてはならないのは、ホップが実る地は世界各地にあり、その数だけ個性がある、ということ。六遊記はホップとビール文化の見聞を広めるべく、6つの国を旅するようにそれぞれの国の特色に焦点を当て、６つのIPAを作るシリーズです。
【醸造家の声】
ホップをめぐる世界ビール旅行シリーズ「六遊記」の第四弾は豪州。オーストラリアでは度数で酒税が異なるため、その理由から度数が3.5％から4.5％に分類される比較的低い度数のビール群が存在します。湿度が低くカラッとした現地の気候の元では、このタイプのビールが多くの人に愛好されているようです。豪州の巻ではオーストラリアンエール酵母を使い、度数低めだけど、しっかりした味わい深さを感じられるビールを目指しました。オーストラリア産ホップの中でも、柑橘や果物の甘味のようなニュアンスを感じられる種類をセレクト。ホッピーでありながら、するすると飲みよい、絶妙なバランスを備えた夏のIPAができました。

Clean yeast and hops in a low ABV, supremely drinkable summer IPA

Light in alcohol but not in flavor, this "mid-strength" IPA has all the citrusy hop aroma and flavor without a lot of alcohol.
[Naming]
The world of craft beer is dominated by American hops, especially in the modern IPA. Hops are produced all over the world, however, and vary hugely in character. This series is a celebration of characteristics of 6 countries, and a reimagining of the IPA through the lens of their respective beer cultures.
[Brewer's Voice]
This installment of the Six Journeys series embodies the beer culture of Australia. A taxation structure based upon the ABV of the product has created a market for "mid-strength" beers of 3.5-4.5% ABV. We used an Australian ale yeast to give this beer depth of flavor while still staying within the constraints of ABV. Hops are 100% Australian as well, with aromas and flavors of sweet fruit and citrus. The result is an easy drinking yet entirely satisfying hoppy IPA without all the alcohol.
