Corked bottle from EricAndersNavy, thanks! Amber color, very lively carbonation. Melon, pineapple, grassy notes and caramel in the aroma. Pear, mango, caramel and leather in the malty sweet flavor. Just a touch of alcohol. Leather and pear drups in the aftertaste.

Bomber from Beer of the Month club, served in tulip glass. Aged the bottle for 2 years. Cloudy brown and high carbonation - cork blew out when the cage was loosened. Tart dark fruit and red wine notes, with a dry finish.

Purchased a 750 ml Bottle at Whole Foods in Tampa, FL about 3 weeks ago. The cork says it is a 2013 vintage? It sat around that long? Very dark Amber color without much head. The aroma is very herbal and yeasty. The flavor show a bigger yeast profile with tea leaves, mint and mild notes of alcohol. The bitterness is lingering and herbal. Body is medium with an unpleasant after taste. This could fair better if fresh. I thought I was buying a current vintage, oh well.

2013 cork. weird. Dark brown, golden orange, 1 finger head. huge cork pop. old beer...might be amazing? Smells like mint leaves and burnt malts and a lot of sugar. Tastes like chicken broth, mint, very bread-like yeast. Honey and some ginger. pepper. interesting. not really falling off that much.

8% bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a hazy copper orange with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is funk and brown sugar. Medium mouth with strong sugar malt, funk, light dryness. 10% bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a cloudy orange with large frothy beige head that lasts. The aroma is earthy hop and yeast. Medium mouth with nice fruit, yeast, light dryness. Very good.

bottle. Typically avoid the Belgian styles as they’re not my favorite, but this was quite good. Very complex

750 Ml bottle. Cork blew off this one before I could even touch it. Pours reddish dark with a fruity, berry aroma. Flavor of apples and berries with a little pepper and wild yeast. Finishes a little sour with more dark fruit. This one is different. Not bad at all.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV. Thanks to Dr. Owl for sending. Pours a murky reddish orange appearance with a cream colored head. Candy sugar, orange candy, spicy funky yeasty, slightly spicy cinnamon aroma. Tangy tart grape/vinous, black cherry, caramel, funky yeasty flavor. High carbonation. Doesn’t blow my mind and kind of a creative idea but not my favorite. Shows a bit of age.

2010 Vintage. Aroma has some light caramel and toffee notes with a moderate amount of candi sugar. There is a hint of toast with some sherry oxidation. Moderate prune, raisin and plum notes with light cherry character. Pours a fairly cloudy amber brown with a thin tan head that quickly recedes to the edges. No lacing and small legs. Flavor starts fairly sweet with some light caramel and toffee as well as candi sugar. Faint hints of darker malt character appear but quickly disappear leaving behind a ton of fruit notes. Lots of prune, cherry and raisin as well as a strong vinous sherry note. Slightly tart finish with a moderately strong alcohol spice. Lingering light bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium low carbonation. Medium low astringency with medium alcohol warmth. Overall not a very enjoyable beer. I don’t get any Saison character unless its the slightly acidic and vinous finish in the flavor. Super strong Belgian fruit notes compared to everything else. Lots of oxidation character as well. I am sure the age has something to do with my opinion of this beer but it also probably wasn’t great when fresh.
