A. Le Coq Classic kvass is an honest, traditionally fermented kvass, which tastes exactly like kvass should taste. It has a pleasant bread flavour and is not too sweet. It has a nice head of foam and it is an excellent thirst quencher. This kvass has the true unspoilt taste of childhood – it’s a pure classic.

Tap @ Viljandi Folk. Traditional Soviet style-looking yellow metal barrel when kvass is actually coming from a normal steel keg. Pours dark brown with some foam on the top, usual look I guess. Tastes sweet, bready, lightly dry but diesn't completely cover all that sugar. Drinks easy though, dry bready finish. Not bad when it's properly chilled.

Opaque dark nutty color with an off white head that vanish quite fast. Quite ok intensity in the aroma. Decent body for an low alcohol beer. Quite soft carbonation. A bit oily texture. Decent nice sweetness. Quite mellow in a way. Some candy sugar, some spices, wort malty, bready and dried fruits in the flavor. Really decent stuff.

50cl PET from Tallinn airport. Pours clear reddish brown with a fast dissipating beige head. Malty and caramely aroma with notes of dark bread. Sweet and malty without much bitterness. Watery, but quite pleasant.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours clear, red-brown with a small, white foam head. Smells like moldy brown bread slathered in dank cheese. Super sweet flavor with loads of sugary bread, raisins, dark dough, prunes. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Very sweet to finish with lots of sugary, doughy undercooked bread, more raisins, brown sugar. Just really, really damn sweet.

Plastic bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012. It pours deep ruby-brown, with a quickly dissipating beige head. The nose is malty (akin to Ovaltine), earth, chocolate and sweet brown bread. The taste is chocolate, sweet dark malt, meaty, cola and brown bread, with a sweet finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Rather sweet! For what it is not too bad.
