31/5/2018. Cask at The Fire Station, Whitley Bay. Pours pale chestnut brown with a small off-white to beige head. Aroma of malt, biscuit, nut, fruit, toffee, and a hint of chocolate. Medium plus sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle from ASDA. Pours out brown and clear. Earthy aroma, peat, smoke. Taste is more of the dark malts. A bit dry and dirty.as

Cask probably in a Spoons in Manchester in 2012. Bland darker ale with a glow. Has some sweetness in its aroma and taste.

Bottle from the Cooperative in Newbiggin by the Sea. Appearance - deep amber to brown. Good head. Nose - fudge and brown sugar. Sweet malt. Taste - more fudge and sweet malt. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Sweet but fairly balanced on the finish. Overall - got better.

Bottle, gift from Dad- cheers! Brown with a thin white head. Brown sugar and nutty malt flavours are rather destroyed by a heavy dose of cardboard. Poor.

Bottle at home. Bought at Morrisons, Aldershot. Sweet malty aroma. Dark brown/chestnut. Blotchy off-white head. The thing that first srikes me about this is the wave of carbonation that rolls over the tongue. Otherwise the body is quite watery. Sweet, with a bitter finish. Nothing special. Too fizzy.
