【名前の由来】
アメリカンホップが席巻するこのクラフトビール界において忘れてはならないのは、ホップが実る地は世界各地にあり、その数だけ個性がある、ということ。六遊記はホップとビール文化の見聞を広めるべく、6つの国を旅するようにそれぞれの国の特色に焦点を当て、６つのIPAを作るシリーズです。
【醸造家の声】
このシリーズでこれまで4つのIPAを作ってきましたが、それぞれに挑戦する部分と造る楽しさや喜びを感じさせる部分の両方がありました。一般的にモダンなIPAに使われないホップを使用する場合は、ユニークで興味深い仕上がりになるか、というのを考えながらも、しっかりIPAらしさも残すことを念頭に置き、計画しないといけません。このチェコのバージョンは、第一作目のドイツとよく似ていて、本来ラガービールに使われるホップを採用しました。中でも、Saazはチェコのクラシックなピルスナーに使われるホップで、ドイツのそれ以上にホップ独自のフレーバーと苦みが特長です。この個性をさらに活かすためにチェコのモダンホップSladekをブレンドし、フレーバーや香りに重なりや奥行きを感じられる設計にしました。IPAといえば、アメリカンIPAだけではないという、このシリーズのコンセプトをうまく反映した、もうひとつのIPA、チェコバージョンをぜひお楽しみください。

Classic noble hop character with hints of fruits and berries in a one of a kind IPA.
[Naming]
The world of craft beer is dominated by American hops, especially in the modern IPA. Hops are produced all over the world, however, and vary hugely in character. This series is a celebration of characteristics of 6 countries, and a reimagining of the IPA through the lens of their respective beer cultures.
[Brewer's Voice]
This series has been both a rewarding and challenging one. Using hops that aren't typically used in modern IPAs requires a lot of forethought and planning to ensure that the beer is unique and interesting while also being unquestionably an IPA. The Czech version is similar to the first German release where the hops used are more traditionally used in lager brewing. Saaz is the classic Czech Pilsner hop and the style has much more hop flavor and bitterness than its German cousins. We harnessed this pedigree and balanced it with Sladek, a more modern Czech hop, to create layered hop flavors and aromas. We hope you enjoy this one of a kind IPA.
