Our take on an India export porter. For this beer we brewed a robust porter base, with heavy hopping in the boil. Cascade, Chinook and Simcoe give this beer a piney, dank hop kick and added bitterness.

Bottle at home. Has a dark brown to black colour with a big, creamy beige head. Aroma of coffee, smoke, toasted bread and nice pine in the background. Flavour of pine, grass, dark chocolate, and ash and roasted malt in a dry ending. Has a slick and soft mouth feel, medium body and a medium to heavy bitterness. Roasted malt and hops battling all the way. Nice, and one of a kind.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Black body with a thick beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blackcurrant, blueberries and brown sugar. Flavour of tart berries, marmalade and brown bread. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. This is excellent - dark and bitter with a distinct hoppy edge.

330ml bottle Chez Sophie. Pours dark with a deep tan head. Good export porter.. coarse woody notes, layered roasted malts with a bitter piney hop bite. Flavoursome stuff.

Creamy light brown head on a near black coloured body. Demerara, dark spirits & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a lively clean back. Malt, dark chocolate & demerara tastes with a bitter pine & pithy hoppy citrus finish. Proper Porter - Bang On.

330ml bottle kindly shared by Finn at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri. Bubbles on the surface of a coal black body, dotted spots on the glass. Inviting roasted malty aromas, scent of chocolate and dark fruits. The taste character follows suit with black chocolate, ash, and hints of liquorice offset by moments of pine needles towards a roasted, bitter ending. Fine depth. Like it. (Tromsø 20.09.2022).

330ml bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of strong roast malts, dark chocolate, pine. Taste is very bitter, roasty, some smoke, chocolate, touch of liquorice, well hopped, pine, citrus, lingering heavy bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied. An excellent India Porter, ranks up there with Kernel's for me.
