We brewed a doppelbock and stuck it in barrels. Dark stone fruit and toffee notes prevail with a warming oaky finish. Big notes of raisin, fig, toffee and subtle cocoa compliment subdued plum and prune flavors as well. Light carbonation and balanced hop bitterness lend to a silky smooth mouthfeel.

Holziger Geruch. 8/11/11/11/12/11

0.355 l can from 'Craftbeershop.com', 2022 vintage, 10.5% abv. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Intensely sweetish-malty, quite fruity aroma of molasses, lots of fruity bourbon, raisins, figs, cough syrup and some vanilla. Rather sweet, malty, moderately bitter and gently fruity taste of molasses, cough syrup, raisins, prunes, figs, quite some bourbon, light green apple and a touch of vanilla, followed by a medium long ,moderately bitter, slightly warming finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty beer with heavy influence from the barrel. Quite rich and saturating, nice sipper, and my first beer from DC.
