Bottle from Grassroots, Jacksonville. It pours cloudy golden amber with a medium white head. The nose is vanilla, wood, coconut, light toast, tequila and sweet stone fruit. The taste is tart, salty, wheat, earth, sweet agave, white grape, yellow plum, hay, alcohol warmth, wood and vanilla with a crisp finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Interesting flavour profile, but perhaps a touch hot. Still fun to drink.

330ml bottle. Minimally filmy, orangey golden colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally tart and sweet fruity aroma, initially cautious, later more and more predominant hints of tequila in the background, a touch of apricot, peach, pear. Taste is dry and tart fruity, apple notes, apple parings, hints of calvados, a line of Kristallweizen-like flavours, warming alcohol in the finish, as well as a combination of bitter hop and green apple parings. Heavy stuff, deceptive light body, concrete alcoholic effect.

Bottle: Deep golden, hazy, stable off-white head, vinous-woody nose with a sweet fruity background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, supported by a decent acidity, medium bodied; lingering sweet-sourish finish including vanilla, wine and a subtle alcohol-burn. Pretty good…

Bottle thanks to Drowland. Pours burnt orange with off white head. Nose and taste of tequila, oak, salt, lime and soured wheat. The tequila overpowers, which is unfortunate because I like the concept, but the execution is a bit much for me. Luckily, just like a shot, the salt and lime mutes the tequila a little bit though not quite enough. Lighter than medium body. Slightly boozy tequila/salt/lime finish.

Bottle. Tart fruity, oak, tequila, and vanilla aroma. Cloudy honey gold with a small white head. Lightly tart, earthy black pepper, oaky tequila, and slightly salty flavor. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Tequila, salt and light malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Sweet-salty tequila, lime, and light malt flavor. Wasn’t sure about this one but was a pleasant surprise - saltiness of a Gose would logically work with tequila. A very nice beer - just misses Reinheitsgebot guidelines.

Bottle at fourth Braustelle festival, courtesy of the brewer, thanks! Clear deep amber color, small white head. Aroma of vanilla, tannins, cream soda, su tle booze. Taste is fruity, slightly boozy, pleasant.

Smell of yeast, mead, sour berries, kilju. Amber colour, very cloudy, with high beige head. Very sour, somewhat salty, with sweetness from alcohol content. Flat carbon. Aroma of raisins, alcohol, oak, leaves, yeast, tequila. Quite hardcore in many ways.

Pours cloudy and golden. The first pour was quite clear, so I assume I just kicked up some sediment. The head puffs up a whole bunch of fine white bubbles quickly, and it mostly dissipates just about as quickly. The aroma is a fascinating mix of sweet, herbal tequila notes, pale malt sweetness, brine, coriander and lacto sourness. Personally, I quite like the agave sweetness, and if that’s not your thing, this probably isn’t the beer for you. The tequila barrel is a bit stronger than the other flavors in the aroma, but it’s bright and friendly. There’s nice oak in the mix, as well. The taste starts off with some simply sweet malt flavor, nice and fresh. Yogurty lacto sourness and coriander follow. The beer finishes with salt and more of that bright, pleasant tequila barrel. The aftertaste is citrusy tequila barrel and that gose salty sourness. There’s a citrus cider-ish quality to the beer. I quite enjoy both the tequila barrel and the double strength gose flavors and find them and the sum total rather interesting, but I can definitely understand opposing views on that topic. Mouthfeel is pretty clean and crisp. Prickly carbonation. Not seeing much love for this beer, but I quite like it. The bright, sweet tequila flavor is probably the star of the show, and that’s not going to be a universally appealing flavor. At any rate, it’s definitely a top five tequila barrel-aged imperial gose in my book.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty beige color Gose with a huge off-white head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma of salt and light coriander notes with light Tequila and agave notes with a light citrusy finish. Taste is way saltier then I had anticipated with less Tequila notes then I was expecting. Coriander is quite subtle with a finish that brings out the lime and agave notes. Body is quite full with strong carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I must admit that this beer is a unique experience that I enjoyed somewhat but don’t necessarily need to repeat on a regular basis.
