Cask at the Riverhead tap in Marsden. Jet black colour with a pale creamy coloured head. Aroma and taste are malty sweet to bitter roasted with the liquorice only subtle. Smooth body.

Bradford Beer Festival 2020. Very dark with its liquorice light tasting, and the brew has a light sweetness to some lower flavoured roasted malts.

Cask handpull at The Ship & Mitre pub beer festival, Liverpool. Black, thin light tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Liquorice is there in mouth. More a dry rounded liquorice than sour as I was expecting. Slightly smokey too. Really a rather tasty stout. Lots going on. Very good liquorice, coffee, choc, bit of hop on end. Bitter. Good.
