Bottle: Amber coloured, cloudy, stable rocky and creamy off-white head, sticking to the glass; a blend of caramelly, fruity and solid hoppy aromas in the nose; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, quite soft; distinctive citrussy-hopy flavours in the solid, lingering sweet-bitter finish. Yeah, a very hoppy jubilee brew.....

Bottle (bought from GBBF 2010). Rubyish red colour, with small off-white creamy, but longlasting head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty and a bit acidic wooden as well. Flavour is caramel malts, rather hoppy, some yeastyness as well as wooden notes. Rather mouthdrying in the palate.

Bottled 33cl (BB 08/2011)
Special brew from Bierkoning. Deep red-ruby-brown color, good creamy beige head, lace. Aroma has horse blanket, Centennial hops - reminds me about some recent Alvinne beers. Medium-bodied. Very bitter, peppery and American hoppy flavor. Slight sourness in the flavor too. Light fruityness plus alcohol kick. Amazingly similar to Alvinne’s hoppy beers.

(bottle, 33cl, extra version, 9.0% abv) Cloudy, amber colour with a huge and dense tanned foamy head. Yeasty and peppery spicy cara-malty aroma with wheaty and fruity, shy zesty hops. Moderately bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft cara-malty and wheaty taste with yeasty spice, citric and herbal hops; dry-ish and moderately hop bitter finish with herbal and yeasty spices. Pleasantly hoppy brew. 19.XII.10

Bottle from, erm, De Bierkoning. Looks good, smells bad. Stinky, sour, herbal. It has the nice elements of an IJ beer (yeast, sweetness), but unfortunately also the less nice (sourness, stinky aroma, in other words: infection). Finishes OK with nice bitterness. But: another IJ beer down the drain, alas.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, shared with Plovmand and Theis. Hazy amber colour, off white head. Aroma of sugar, IJ yeast, funk, grassy hops, fruits. Flavour is sweet, fruity, yeasty, alcohol, sugar, but also rather bitter with a grassy bitter finish. Medium bodied. Prefer the regular version, but this is good stuff as well.

Bottled, thx to Menno. Hazy yellow color, large head. Aroma of some banana, yeast, spices, soft dryhopping noticeable. Soft bitter taste, bit sweet, reminding me of a Hoegaarden Grand Cru, the ’golden standard’ in wheat-like triples. The dryhopping is a good and well-balanced addition to the aroma. Not overdone, but nicely balanced with the original aroma.
