The Tsar of stouts (without the beard). A true Imperial Stout, this beer is as black as coal. Velvety smooth with notes of coffee, chocolate and dark fruit. Hops are added at numerous points to the beer during its production with a twelve week maturation.

Red-tinted black beer with a thick bubbly head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Flavour is light tangy fruit with thr chocolatey malt and a hoppy, slightly smoky aftertaste.

Pitch black, large creamy tan head, collapses slowly, long lasting, good lacing. Aroma roasted malts, roasted barley, dark chocolate, some coffee, some liquorice. Taste moderate sweetbitter, licorice, roasty. Full-bodied, creamy texture, soft mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Roasty bittersweet finish, coffee notes. A very good smooth stout.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Fruity, dark malty aroma, notes of red and dark berries, yeasty overtones, imaginary dark chocolate. Taste is roasty dark malty, bitter hoppy overtones, also some dark malty sweetness, a mixture of inexplicit coffee and dark chocolate notes, a nuttily touch. Has of course nothing to do with a "big" Imperial Stout beyond the 10% abv and activates a more restricted flavour-area; still a very robust stout.

BOTTLE 33CL from dcmchew.
Look: pitch black, beige frothy to creamy head.
Aroma: moderate roast, black malts, licorice/Valerian, perhaps chocolate. Some sweet fruitiness as it warms up, that resembles dark honey rather than dried fruit.
Taste: very roasty, a bit acid even, light saltiness, very bitter hoppy finish and some ashes in the after taste.
Quite nice, but the bitterness is a bit over the top and seems unbalanced for the body and level of sweetness.

A colablack beer with quite big and beige head that stays as a thin layer. The nose is smooth, coffee, roastiness and chocolate, some lactose and hint of fresh bitter almond. Taste is strongly roasted, liquirice, bitter almond, herbal hops. Medium+ bodied, enough smooth to drink. Slightly different IS than normally, the bitter almond is quite unique nuancee. Good but not a top beer.

on tap Intense-malty, fruity (dark cherries), viscous. Intense-malty, sticky roasted-intense. The aftertaste is roasty, smooth-intense. Bitterness fits in nice.

Bottle. Aroma orange melon, milky roasted chocolate. Plums. Almost black colour. Taste is nicely roasted, coffee and chocolate. Very very light vanilla. Surprisingly easily drinkable. Long roasted dry chocolatey finish.

330mL bottle from Blackrock Cellar, different label and this is 7.5%abv, so not sure if this should be a new listing? Thick oily black pour into the glass, small tan head that dissipated fairly quickly, nice sticky lacing. Freshly brewed coffee, deep dark chocolate, smoke, juicy dark fruit, some hop resin in the finish. Ultra smooth finish, full velvety mouthfeel, complex as it warms up a little, warming. Very nice, could do with a notch up in abv to double digits.

Bottle 330ml, BB 16.02.15. Pours pitch black with tan head. The head stays for some time. Aroma roasted malt, dark chocolate, slight tartness. Flavor: creamy, nice roast, dark chocolate, licorice, some sweetness in the background. Long finish starts more as dark chocolate which transforms to ash. Alcohol is slightly noticeable, but maybe it would be really better with even higher ABV. Overall: good one. I really like the finish and the creamy feeling. Update: had another bottle and didn’t enjoy it as much as last time. Still ok, but as far as imperial stouts go, it’s not really great.
