Blend of young and old lambic, but not in bottle, thus not an Oude Geuze - hence the name Sparkling Lambic. The blend doesn't have a consistent ratio or age.

Draft @ Kaffee Bazaar, Ieper. Pours an unclear gold. Excellent balance, served perfectly cold.. soft fruity elements, light orchard funk, crisp sharp edge, moderate effervescence with a bristling tangy close, very satisfying overall.. finally a sparkling oud beersel rather than the somewhat disappointing still box stuff prevalent in the UK, and often served room temperature.

Draught Small white rim over still, peach-golden beer. Peach, stonefruit, mineral, farmyard, horseblanket. Sharpish, mineral, sulphur, wheat/grains in the background; lemon. Light if nowhere empty, slick, feels better carbonated than it looks, but to call it 'sparkling'... Again, interesting.

Pours fairly clear blonde. Small white head. Scent is very mild on the funk, dry, woody, more rough than the average OB geuze/ lambic. Taste is crisp, refreshing, funk, dry apple, rough wood. Less apple than the regular OG .

On tap at Bierhuis Oud Beersel, pours a clear pale copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out a wonderful old sweat sock, earthy leather, and a little champagne-like effervescence. Flavour is vibrant, with a really nice old leather character, gentle funk, a hint of citrus, and champagne-like effervescence. The sparkling character really adds a nice touch to this. One of the better base lambics out there, and the carbonation really adds a nice touch to this. Excellent.
