Keg at the Westow House, Crystal Palace. Dark brown pour with a reddish tint. Rich nose of licorice, Christmas cake, raisin, dates, treacle, caramel cake. Taste of caramel, toffee, burnt sugar, licorice, coffee. Exceedingly smooth. Sweet, warm booze laden mouthfeel. Archetypal throat warmer. Delicious!

Tap. PSBH, Manchester. Clear, chestnut brown. Halo of beige head. Sweet, dried raisin. Plenty of the Sherry barrel. Some chocolate. Some thick toffee. A dry, woodiness keeps the sweetness from overpowering. Taste is banana sweet, turning coffee bitter. Palate is smooth, rich, and slightly alcoholic. Finishes long, light, chewy bitter.
