A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, and peated smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, chocolate, peated smoke, and iodine, leading to a dry roasted finish. A bit too much for me.

Draft at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014 - Session 4. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Prominent character in the aroma, with dark roast, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavour with some tannic dryness, hearty dark chocolate, burnt sugars. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with more heavy burnt wood, some bittersweet baking cocoa. The wood is a bit strong, but otherwise it’s excellent stuff.

Smell is malty, roasty and fruity with roasted malts, burnt caramel, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark hocolate, raisins, plums, moist soil and sherry alclhol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and fruity. mouthfeel is round, viscous, astringent, tiny booy and near full bodied.
