[50cl bottle bought in Wittenberg.] A cola brown pour with a fast fading beige head; malty aroma; thin and very sweet in the mouth with a malty taste, a hint of hops; then a sticky sweet finish leaving a malty toffee aftertaste. Disappointing.

500 ml bottle. Clear dark brown reddish with a stable big fluffy head. Sugar syrup, molasses, roasted malt, liquorice, lots of caramel. Very sweet, slightly dry. Light bodied, watery texture, lively to soft carbonated, sweet syrupy finish. Generally not that bad, but way too sweet, like really sweet. The sweetness ruins this solid Schwarzbier.

Appearance: Cloudy deep brown with a moderate ivory-coloured head of medium retention. Artoma and taste: Toasted malts, treacle, brad, somewhat roasted, Distant hop. Medium sweet, light bitter. Mouth feel: medium body, average carbonation. Overall: Why so sweet?

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, orangey brown with a lacing, off-white head. Sweet, colaish nose. Cloyingly sweet caramel maltiness. No bitterness at all. “Nach alter Rezeptur” and all that bullshit. Please burn that recipe. 130723

It’s actually a dunkel in taste. But a bit sweet yet balanced by a good roast. But it’s a very good clean drinkable beer. Not a porter. Simmel Dresden (3.5) Great beer, not a porter.

Bottle from kappldav123, thanks! Deep dark brown color. Chocotoff in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with chocotoff. Hint of roasted malt, pear. Mix of a porter and a Dutch oud bruin.
