500 ml bottle. Pours a dark caramel brown with light head. Aromas of burnt sugar, dry caramel, figs and metallic malts. Flavors of burnt sugars and toasted malts with some dark fruit and copper. OK, but nothing to write home about.

Bottle from Lidl. Clear amber/brown body with a beige head. Fine carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of dumpling and Dr Pepper. Flavour of toffee and roasted malt. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. This tastes like something between a dunkel and a dubbel. It’s a very tasty beer.

Bottle from Lidl, Easter Road. Pours clear copper to brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas of toffee, burnt sugar, light spice. Taste is more of the same. Thin finish.

Flaska från Systembolaget. Rödbrun utan skum. Maltig doft. Rund kropp, maltig, choklad, lite läder, lätt beska och bra balans.

500ml bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop near Callander - deep russet body with a solid white head. Big caramel malty character all through, fruity malt loaf taste and a chewy mouthfeel.

Bottle thanks to Roddy. Appearance - deep amber but still clear. Beige, creamy head. Nose - toffee, Jamaica cake, raisin and prune. Taste - chewy toffee, cake and raisin. Palate - medium bodied and chewy in texture. Lightly dry. Overall - lovely stuff.
