Not as much chocolate as I was expecting. Thick and boozy but lacking where I expected flavor.

Bottle. Black beer with a brown head. Roast and chocolate aroma with bourbon. Bourbon and chocolate flavor with toffee and light molasses. Fuller bodied. Bourbon and chocolate linger with light roast and light toffee.

Refrigerated 12 oz brown bottle poured into a glass. Black with small light brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, thick body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is bitter chocolate and salty.

Brewery draught, 3/27/23. Clear dark chocolate. Tan head quickly to rim. Lovely peppery, salty bourbon in the nose. Soft vanilla, chocolatey malt and a bit of fudge but no overdone barrel, alcohol, adjunct or sugar, at least from the nose. Soft, sweet, succulent. Rich bourbon with a bit of bite to it, drying heavily. Big vanilla, rich and wonderful. Lingering chocolate, peppery bourbon, not much alcohol. Damn...so Prairie keeps the best stuff on draught at the brewery I guess? Though I'm pretty sure this is regular distro. Whatever the case, this is excellently barreled and attenuated.

Poured from 355mL bottle. Near black with small beige head. Vanilla, cacao, mild bourbon and oak. Rounding up to a 4, but could be fuller and more blended, slightly muted. Good, but underwhelming for Prairie.

12 oz. can, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma brings out big boozy bourbon barrels, light cocoa, vanilla, and plenty of booze. Flavour seems a bit muted, with earthy cocoa nibs, a hint of vanilla, and some boozy bourbon. The flavours are kind of jumbled; the bourbon just come across boozy, the chocolate is muted, and the vanilla seems obscured. The integration is OK, but they've simply done better before. Good, but below par considering what Prairie is capable of.

Black with a medium sized foamy dark brown head. Malty and boozy with a red wine note. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black hue with almost no head. A huge sweet nose, chocolates. Huge layers of chocolate, this is drinkable despite the hefty ABV, vanilla, bourbon. Beastly.
