tasted next to the IPA, bottle @ home. Orange color, hazy. vanilla, oak and melon in the aroma. Very fruity flavor with yoghurt, pineapple, melon. Soft oaky notes, toffee. Vanilla. Tart, with way less hopbitterness as the unoaked version.

Holz-matschfarben, holzig-matschige rot-saure Noten im Geruch. Der Antrunk ist sehr sauer-holzig. Zum Hauptteil saures Holz, kaum andere Aromen. Sehr enttäuschend. Der Nachgeschmack ist sauer-matschiges Holz.

Bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. An orange-colored, unclear and with a small off-white head. Grapefruity, vinous aroma with malty sweetness. Slightly sourish flavor with malty sweetness, some caramel, grapefruit and a vinous touch. Medium body. Not a very elegant beer. 110129

10/10/10/12/12/12

Bottle Best Before 2011-12
Hazy dark amber color. The aroma is indeed peculiar; there are traces of the fruity hops, but it’s also creamy, very buttery. Ordinary body strength; there is a suspicious sourness, it can be due to the Pinot Gris barrel, but actually it rather seems to be some kind of infection.
Controversial. Anyway I have doubts that the barrel ageing could improve in anyway an already excellent IPA.
