We traditionally brew gallons of Vietnamese Coffee with a phin-style filter that gently percolates water through ground coffee. The result is a chocolatey and bold-tasting coffee that perfectly compliments the notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon barrel in this massive barrel-aged stout, a true AleSmith legend.

Toch alweer 3 jaar oud.

Smooth, roasty and sweetish with loads of coffee, some chocolate, vanilla, oak and wood, hints of bourbon.

10 November 2022. At Alesmith's Speedway Grand Prix, San Diego. Shared with the lovely Anke!

A: cloudy black, stable, foamy, dark beige head.
A: meringue, vanilla cream, bourbon, milk chocolate.
T: sweet chocolate, date, sourish coffee bean, vanilla & meringue.
F: peppery hops, smooth vanilla, oak & warming bourbon alcohol.
P: full body, oily texture, soft carbonation.
More complex than the rye version. Great.

Crowler from Harvest. Pours a pitch black with a full finger of brown head that lingers. Big espresso and coffee aromas with some tobacco notes as it warms. Bourbon is there on the nose as well as some cacao nib notes. More of the same on the palate...espresso, bourbon, oak and cacao nib. Warming bourbon finish with espresso all the way down. Glad I was finally able to try this whale. Very nice BA stout.
