Black with a creamy, light brown head that lingers. Aroma a mix of pine and fudge. Taste is, as warned explicitly and dramatically on the label, bitter. Finishes bitter to acrid with a lingering coffee roast. Despite the bitterness, you can still sense a rich, sweet, malty side just underneath. Full-bodied, mild carbonation, lots of chewiness. Good!
I was warned, and super bitter indeed. Return of the IBU wars! Nice roast, good bit of smoke, and some hoppyness. Did I mention bitterness? This all falls together really nicely. If you can stand bitterness. This is a good one for sure.

Diep donkerbruin bier met een bruine schuimkraag. Het heeft een gebrande moutige en hoppige geur. De smaak is hoppig, bitter en drop achtig.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, small, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, dark brown head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty and grassy, minimally citrusy, fruity, piney, spicy, hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, coffee, scallions, grapefruit peel. Taste is bitter, roasty, chocolately, dark malty and bitter, grassy, citrusy, zesty, piney, hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, coffee, burnt coffee, roast, hints of ashes, scallion, grapefruit peel; late partizipating fruity hints of blueberry. Lingering, bitter roasty and bitter hoppy finish; well hidden alcohol. Oily to viscous texture, smooth, soft and silky, slightly cloying and greasy palate, fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Intense, concentrated, bitter - very good!

'Bottle. Color: Almost black, dense brown head. Aroma: Hop, earthy, dark malt, licorice notes. Did I already mention the hop? Taste: Starting coffee, dark and roasted malt, fruity coffee beans. After a second the floral, grassy and resinous hop comes in. Resulting in more earthy bitterness and a really bitter and dry hoppy finish with citrus notes. Wow! Best Black IPA I've had so far. I love the over medium bitterness of this beer.
