33 cL bottle. Pours amber, clear, with a crispy and somewhat lasting light orange head. Roasted caramel malt aroma. Soft sweet malty flavour with a mellow bitterness in the finish. Clear roasted note. Somewhat more sweet than the HP Bock but otherwise quite reminiscent of that. Nice.

Brown or amber with a nice white head that leaves some lace. Caramel and apple aroma. Very sweet, malt dominated caramel flavour with some munich/bock-like bread notes thrown in.

330ml bottle. Clear golden body with a white head. Aroma is a bit acidulous, maybe infected? Flavor is also a bit sour and thin malty. Not a harmonic beer for my taste. My guess is that something is wrong with this bottle, at least this has nothing to do with a barley wine. Have to try this again another time.

Bottled. Almost clear, dark reddish brown with a small off-white head. Caramel-sweet, malty aroma with yellow apples and some sourness. Sweetness and caramel dominates the flavor, with very little hoppiness, and some apple-notes. Too mild for a barely wine I think. Sticky on the palate, and a bit too thin-bodied. Unusual, as usual for Refsvindinge. Old rating 060115: 4-4-5-2-11-2.6. (070119)

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, clear amber with a small, beige head. Sweetish, malty caramelish aroma. Quite full-bodied but considering the 8.4% ABV it’s almost thin! Extremely malty with a marked sweetness and distinct notes of caramel. Practically no bitterness. My guess is, that this is A-Z Ale speeded up with heaps of extra caramel malt and perhaps even malt aroma. Not a great brew. 081105
