Bottle bought at Waitrose, Rickmansworth, Herts. A golden coloured pour with a small white head on top. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, slightly malty, nice bitterness. Similar to but not quite as good as the fresh cask version.

Cask at Barton Arms; yellow straw colour with small white head. Hoppy aroma with some floral notes. Hoppy citrus slight malty backbone. I’ve not had a bad Oakham beer.

500ml bottle, just out of date when opened on 26 July 2012. This is very, very simular to the cask version (which is always a good thing). Pours a pale yellow with next to no white head. The smell is all citrusy hops with grapefruit coming through, no malt hints at all. The taste is a crisp grapefruit induced hoppy flavour, again with very little maltiness to be found, some yeasty hints around in the aftertaste. I’m a malt man, but this has class and deserves the high scores i’ve given it.

Half pint @Castle Hotel, 04.Jul.2012 Clear hay coloured body, small dense head that diminishes and leaves a tiny layer. Hops, tangerines, flowers and fruit. Hint of coriander (?) in aroma, fresh oranges, snap peas, green grass and grain. Dry finish. Yummy!

Hand pulled pint poured into a UK sleeve on 20 Aug 2011 in the ’Wrekin Inn’ Wellington, Shropshire. Pours a pale yellow with a small to no white head. The smell is all citrusy hops with grapefruit coming through in my nose. The taste is a crisp grapefruit induced hoppy flavour with very little maltiness to be found, some yeasty hints around in the aftertaste. I’ll not pretend Oakham are a favourite brewery of mine, or that I like hoppy brews compared to maltier ones, but this is a good beer and is scored accordingly.

9/10
mesh of fruity hops with a good earthy base and the malt that restrains from being excessive. Fleshy grapefruit as well as the peel.

Bottle at home. It pours hazy gold, with a thin foamy white head. The nose is sweet tangerine, peach, lychee and micro chips (weirdly enough). The taste is pine, resin, grass, pear, tangerine and grapefruit with a long bitter finish. Moderate, prickly carbonation and medium body. Tasty stuff.

Bottled at chriso’s. Clear pale golden, small head. Evident tangerine aroma. Sweet and custardy with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Drinjable and citric, despite being rather sweet. Long bitterness. Nice!
