Our latest collaboration beer is with Huddersfield institution Dixons makers of unique and delicious ‘Milk Ices’ since 1961. In homage to this favourite local treat we use Golden Promise, Crystal and Carafa malts to add light maltiness and colour and Pinhead Oats and Oat Malt are then used to give a smooth and velvety body. We then added Lactose milk sugar before fermentation and a little premium Madagascan Vanilla for a nostalgically sweet and milky flavour. Just like the Milk Ice, it’s a Taste of Its Own!

Can shared with Joes, Judyvv and Laura. Black color, medium sized off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, sweet, lactose. You do indeed get the idea there's ice cream in there. Okay for once, but that's it.

Tap at Csaka. Deep brown, off-white head. Nuts, lactose and malts in aroma. Taste is basically the same, with sweet, lactose-y finish. Pleasant, but a bit too sweet and light.

Can from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is sweet dark malt, caramel, creamy lactose, sugar, syrupy notes, milk chocolate. Flavour is quite sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. A bit too sweet for my taste, but a decent milk stout.

Cask at Cellar, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish=brown with a small tan head. There’s roast malts and lactose in the aroma. In the mouth it is smooth and sweet with a creamy texture. Chocolate and roasted malts hit the taste buds first, followed quickly by lactose, then cola, marzipan and hints of vanilla. Finish is quite sweet. The is decent if a little on the sweet side.

Tap. Deep brown color with beige head. Aroma is big vanilla ice cream, not much more. Taste is more portery, but still a lot of vanilla milkshake, lactose af. Silky mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not bad, but really for dairyfreaks.

Clear, dark brown/black pour with a decent (lasting) white head. Aromas of malt, coffee, dark cocoa, milk/cream - tastes pretty much the same with a bit of vanilla and sweetness. Easy drinking indeed.
