Naturtrüb im hellen Bernstein präsentiert sich das Detmolder Weizen. Der Schaum ist üppig und fest. Das typische Bananenaroma ist deutlich in der Nase und wird von einer leichten Mango und erfrischenden Ananas begleitet. Im Antrunk macht sich die Banane breit. Danach kommt etwas Gewürznelke und eine leichte Hopfenherbe hinzu. Die mild dosierte Kohlensäure macht dieses körperreiche Bier zu einem süffigen, sehr gut trinkbaren Weizenbier.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a cloudy and opaque golden with a white head. Sweet banana aroma with some yeast. Medium body, heavy carbonation, banana and yeast with a dry and phenollic edge. 090410

Bottle. Cloudy yellow, big off-white head. Spicy nose, big on banana and clove. Peppery start, vanilla, clove, tamarind - almost a curry beer. Light, fresh , a bit acidic. Vanilla retronasal.

Bottle, 5%. Very yeasty aroma, quite nice. Quite cloudy yellow colour. Stable white head. The flavour is also nicely yeasty, and there is some clove. Not as citric as many wheat beers. Low bitterness. Nice and refreshing.

Bottle. Sweet orange-banana, clove and wheat malt aroma - very nice. Cloudy yellow amber color with moderate head and nice lacing. Lightly sweet tangerine/banana and wheat - watery bland finish. Smelled very nice but flavor disappoints.

Bottled. Cloudy pale orange, creamy head. Papery citric nose. Medium sweet and medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. No banana esters, cardboard takes it’s place...

bottle, díky pivnizub! Cloudy dark yellow colour, persistent head. Fruity and malty with a yeasty character and a shy fruity sourness, slightly dusty.

Swing-top bottle: Hazy, yellow coloured, quite thin, quickly diminishing white head; sweet fruity nose, mainly ripe bananas; sweetish flavour, a bit oily, low carbonation, soft MF; slightly acidic, a bit grainy and a bit watery finish. Drinkable, but nowhere near on a par with the better bavarian examples....

(bottle) Cloudy and hazy yellow to orange colour with a diminishing foamy white head. Dusty and almost dry wheat-malt aroma with notes of banana. Slightly sweet flavour, light bodied, rather low carbonated and thin mouthfeel. Wheat-malty taste with yeast and notes of banana; slim and slightly fruity finish with cloves. Bland and rather boring Weizen.
