2010 bottle, 15,5%. From secret santa. Dark brown color. Malt, dried figs and alcohol in the aroma. Very sweet, malty, warming alcoholic flavor with dried figs, dried red fruit and some distant floral hops. Full bodied. Sticky. A bit too much of everything.

A 2005 bottle. Oh boy! Stored properly and allowed to breathe. Almost clear dark brown beer, short lived bubbly tan head. Nose of balsamic vinegar and a little marmite. Palate is surprisingly light and mildly dry, not a lot of carbonation here, perhaps not too much of a surprise given its age and abv. Fortunately none of the nose carries over in to the flavour. Dark fruit liqueur, kinda date like. Good touches of brandy and port wine. A little woody bitterness underneath. Finishes with more ripe dark fruits and a little gum numbing alcohol and warmth. The nose makes you think this is going to be a rotter. It really isn't.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house, courtesy of Armin. Thank you! Cloudy brown appearance with a tiny cream head. Caramel, bourbon, vanilla, woody, burnt, slightly harsh, boozy aroma. Huge fruity, toffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, super boozy flavor. Over the top for me but it does have a nice flavor.

Sample at Brew Kettle in Strongsville. The beer is a cloudy amber-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes to a film eventually. Aroma of dark fruits, vanilla and malt. Medium, smooth body with flavors of ripe fruit, caramel malt and vanilla. The finish is fruity with a touch of alcohol and a sweet caramel aftertaste. A little disjointed overall but enjoyable enough.

Bottle. Pours cola brown. Nose of toffee, cherry skin and caramelized sugar. Taste of candi sugar, toffee and sweet caramel. Some warming alcohol, which is to be expected given the ABV.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with no head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel soup and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The moutfeel is thick and sticky.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Sean9689. Label says "Extranous Ale" at 15,5% ABV. Pours a cloudy reddish amber with hardly any head. The nose is nutty with some caramel and yeast - and loads of booze. Solid body, rather low carbonation, nutty, caramel, yeast and a whiff of whiskey - not overly distinct Bourbon notes though. Boozy finish. 021110

Sweet trade bonus courtesy of goryshkewych. Pours crystal clear amber with copper edges and almost no head. The aroma is big bold rich and yummy. I get buckets of figs, plums and cherries to go along with a thin layer of sweet malts and molasses. Wow! The taste is stunning and pushes me away from the tasting table. I get lush nearly vibrant fig notes running from rich thick sweet fruitiness to dank earthiness. Behind the figs are cherries, plums and dates. Between these bold sweet fruity notes are a couple of thin strata of molasses, malts and caramel candy. I think a couple of years will allow the bold dark fruitiness to smooth into the malts and molasses for a truly exceptional experience. As of now this fairly fresh 2010 bottle is a bit too much fruit forward yet yummy nonetheless.
