Who woulda thought a brewer from Texas could turn out a decent Belgian trippel. Tipped a 12 oz. bottle into a Chimay glass. Yes that is not a bad thing. The pour is quite all right, a nice orangey yellow. Good stream of bubbles keep the head going. The smell, yes that nice scent of things to follow. First taste, slightly sweet, spicy, but not overwhelming. A significant fruit taste, mango maybe. Alcohol, I cannot detect it but 8.1% will bite. Not with the best Belgians I have had but certainly better than most domestic efforts. Good way to finish the evening or start it if you prefer.

Bottle at Buffalo Wild Wings, Houston Hobby, 22/05/13. Hazed orange golden. Nose is dark fruits, caramel, light spice. Taste comprises sugars, dark bitter fruit, spice, dates, sultanas, toffee. Medium bodied with added ooomph, fine carbonation, light booze notes in the finish. Ok tripel, picks the style out but no world beater by any means.

Bottle courtesy of AirForceHops. Fruity banana, bready yeast, and light spicy aroma. Hazy honey gold with a large off-white head. Sugary sweet banana, Belgian yeast, light spice flavor and the barest hint of bitterness in the finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Alcohol well hidden.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Kegs and Barrels, Plano, TX. Bottle said, Best before May 26, 2013. Chalice shows a nearly clear gold with soft carbonation. The aroma was of bread malt and mild Belgian yeast with a hint of sugar. Up front is lots of fruity Belgian yeast and wheat. Light tartness that transitions to mild sweetness in the finish. This is really on the light side of body and texture. You can take that as being positive or negative. Clean finish. The over 8 % ABV is totally hidden.

Bottle from secret Santa 2012 - blutt59. Pours hazy dark golden color with off white head. Aromas of Belgian yeast, candi sugar and saez hops. Sweet, fruity flavor with doughy yeast and grassy hops. Medium body with lively carbonation. A nicely done American tripel. Thanks Bob.
