Dabinett apples alone make this medium cider display all of the quintessential characteristics of this famous fruit; a marmalade twang is enveloped in a twist of smoke and given weight with rounded tannins, whilst gentle astringency is balanced with the apple’s own juicy natural sugars.

Gathered by hand from lines of trees in a small orchard nestled between a curve in the river and the cross on the old church spire in our home town of Hay on Wye, this is a cider made for Winter feasting. Eat, drink and dance until your legs fall off!

Medium, still, unfiltered, unpasteurised, wild fermented, pure juice, natural cider
Ingredients: Apples (Dabinett)
Handpicked from unsprayed traditional standard orchards
Orchard/s: Riverside Fields
Pressed November 2020

375ml bottle purchased from Hereford Cider Museum, drunk at home. Light to mid-gold, clear and still. Sour, tart, almost astringent smell of apple skin. Taste is sweet, woody, with strong apple moving to a slightly drying bitterness. Handles the balance pretty damn well. Light body and almost no carbonation. Delicious.

375ml bottle from Artistraw. Orangey gold colour, thin white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of funky apple, leathery. Taste is sweetish, apple, fruity, tangy, with meaty funk, leather and drying tannins. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
