A variety of such provenance that it was mentioned in John Evelyn’s Pomona of 1662. Grown in Herefordshire generation by generation ever since, it produces a perry of high quality. It has an iconic and inviting perry pear aroma, with a creamy, nutty sweetness that gives complexity and delicacy to the soft finishing tannins. One of our favourite pears.

5/10/2022. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear very pale gold with minimal head. Aroma of pear, citrus, flowers, twigs. Medium sweetness and light bitterness with a tart edge. Moderate body, slightly oily, low carbonation. Light sweet finish. Liked it.

750ml bottle from Cat in the Glass. Pale yellow colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of perry pear, fruity floral, woody, funk. Taste is perry pear, fruity, caramel note, zingy citric note, with some funk hints. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry tangy finish. Nicely drinkable.
