A lager of 10.5%? Yes, of course! This bottom fermented boy gets his sweet caramel notes from the use of a good amount of caramel malt. The large amount of added cocoa nibs gives the beer, in addition to a very light acidity, a deep and intense character.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is dark malt with lots of caramel, toffee, fudge, cocoa, soft roasty notes. Hint of fruits on the periphery. Medium sweet flavour with a mild bitterness. Above medium body. Heavy on the caramel as announced.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 23/12/24. Lighter shade of black with a khaki cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, toasted brown sugar, cocoa powder, toffee, dried fruit esters. Taste comprises chocolate, booze tunes, mellow roast, molasses, brown bread. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Okay sipper with some boost offered if a touch 1D.

A mild to medium haze on this deep amber - brown beer, small and short lived bubbly pale tan head. Light palate, very mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. A light but reasonably rich chocolate, somewhere between dark and milk chocolate, pretty much defines this brew. A little fruity chocolate and then a crisp, semi dry and mildly alcohol spicy finish. Lager? Interesting! Decent, if pretty much one dimensional chocolate beer.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 15.12.2022) im 2022-03 getrunken. Die Lager ist deutlich mit dem Cacao & Kokos verwandt und hat bis auf das Kokos-Aroma die gleiche Aromastruktur. Hier kommt auch die Schokolade, das dunkle Malz und eine schöne Karamellnote deutlicher hervor. Durch die leichte Süße und den sehr gut balancierten Körper macht dieses Bier richtig Spaß.
