Dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark, dried fruits, caramel and malt. Dry malty flavour with dried fruits. A little alcohol on the finish.

33cl bottle @ Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Pours a amber/reddish with a small creamy white head and lacings. Fruit, caramel, yeast, sugar, earth and citric notes. Quite De Koninck like - and very average.

Bottle: Clear, small off-white layer, amber coloured; more dry (than sweet)fruity (dried fruits) and malty - almost with a tinge of toasted malt - nose; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; traces of roasted malt in the sweet and bitter finish. Solid, not too complex stuff............

Bottled. Clear amber color, short off-white head. Aroma is malty, carmal, bit bready, slight fruity, some hop. Like a slight alcoholic version of the regular koninck.

On tap @ Take One, November 2008. Clear amber colour, creamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malts, yeast, some alcohol. Flavour is likewise, with some grainy notes, soft and sweet with a dry yeast-bitter finish.

Bottle: Poured a brown amber with a light tan head. Aroma is sweet sugars and roasted malts. Taste is slight bitter metallic but mellows into a caramel/roasted malts.

Draught @ Kerstbierfestival / Christmas Beer Festival 2008, Essen, Belgium.Unclear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, burnt brown sugar, light to moderate yeasty, light alcolic. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20081213]

Bright copper colour. Aroma and flavour have hint of roasted almond. Moderate level of malt. Rich, silky texture. A little dried fruit comes through at the end.

Good off-white head, over dark copper beer, clear. Typical De Koninck yeast nose, noble hops, caramel, lightly roasted. Sweet-spicy, with playful if not very distinctive hops, surrounding the malts; bit nutty. Slick, even sticky MF, lots of restsugars. Some vanilla retronasal, but also getting a bit empty. Sweet – but I wonder with some lagering? The hopping seems to be OK, the ABV would sustain it, so…
