Das schwarze, aromatisch-milde Dunkle vom Donnersberg ist ein untergäriges Bier. Neben dem normalen Gerstenmalz wird ein dunkler Röstmalz verwendet. Dadurch entsteht die schwarzbraune Farbe. Das wenig hopfenbetonte Bier beeindruckt durch ein angenehmes Röstmalzaroma. Sein kräftiger Geschmack erinnert an Röstkaffee. Der weiche Abgang klingt mit einer leichten Karamellbitternote aus.

bottle. Clear deep black colour, small but persistent beige head. Roasetd malts, caramel, coffee and toffee with a touch of bitter chocolate and cocoa powder. Dry mouthfeel, nicely hopped in the finish.

Bottle. Light toasted and somewhat grassy nose. Dark red brown, lacing golden foam. Enters on the herbal side - citrus grass, fennel, light roast and caramel. Lightbodied, yet sticky - not the best combination. Exits on burned butterscotch.

The bottle looks not too bad, but I don’t like that twist-off cap. Looks great in the glass, deep black, nice head. Starts modest malty, dry and hoppy notes. The finish is a bit too sourish and could be maltier. Not really convincing!

Bottle:Deep amber coloured, clear, small, sowly vanishing off-white foamy layer; papery caramelly nose with a grassy, german Pilsner-like background; mainly dry, bitter 8sweet) flavour, light-bodied for a beer of 5.2% ABV; Pilsner-like, again. grassy-bitter fnish. Cheap colored Pils........

(screw cap bottle, courtesy of Koelschtrinker) Clear, dark brown colour with a medium-sized, not very persistent off-white foamy head. Slightly dusty, light-sweet and roasty malty nose, slightly burnt with a tinge of metal. Light-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roast-malty taste with light burnt notes and a whiff of caramel; dry and moderately bitter finish with grassy and slightly metallic hops (16.04.08).

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is hard to come by but some caramel malts come around after awhile. Flavor is a little better with a nice dark fruit and a earthness to it. Nothing really special with this one but it is easy to drink.

Malziger Antrunk, etwas süß, angenehm hopfig. Das Malz wird im Mittelteil zwar etwas stärker, als stark ist es aber erst im Nachgeschmack zu bezeichnen, in dem das Malz röstiger wird. Nicht außer Acht lassen sollte man aber auch die zeitweilige Wässrigkeit, die eher hintergründig agiert. Zusätzlich kommt ein getreidiger Ton hinzu, der ab und an zum herben tendiert. (Bottle 50 cl) Rather deep, reddish brown than black with a fine, brownish head. Surprisingly light-bodied in spite of a marked malt character. Finishes with the typical ashy bitterness so common for Schwarzbiers. 260501
