Respekt!

Bottle. Orange blonde color. Malty flowery aroma with pineapple. Malty flavor with butter and pineapple, firmly hopped with earthy and flowery hops. Full bodied, malty bock with a good balance.

The wife and I stayed here overnight on 9th May 2017 and I obviously had all five of their beers that were on tap that evening: this being the fourth and for me the best of the five (I had another large glass before bed). Clean amber pour, beige topping. Again fairly sweet in nature with a caramel flavour and aroma: my sweet tooth was having a field day in this brewery tap.

(swing top bottle, as Jenaer Mai Bock, 5.8% abv) Slightly hazy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Mildly bready and slightly sugary malty aroma with notes of caramel and shades of herbal hoppy spice. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft, almost tame carbonation. Cara-malty base with residual sugars, delicately bready and subtle fruity notes, restrained hops character; sweet and delicately bitter finish; due to the tame carbonation also a tad sticky. 27.VI.16

Buegelverschlußflaše (as "Maibock"): Deep golden to light amber coloured, hazy, stable and creamy off-white head with a little lace; relatively dry grainy-malty nose with traces of caramel, very delicate hoppy traces in the background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, nesrly medium bodied; slightly lingering bitter-caramelly finish. O.K., but not perfectly convincing…
