Can split at L6 Tasting, thanks to LKS, 02/03/23. Black with a tan cap that fades to the edge. Nose is chocolate, charr, dried fruit rinds, dark malts. Taste comprises chocolate, raisins, charr, roast malts, coffee, molasses, toffee. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Okay sipper if a little basic and lacking any depth to justify the 13% offered.

(Draught at Tritonia/Barrels, Burgers & Beers, Stockholm, 27 Feb 2023) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of coffee, liquorice, soy sauce and toasted coconut. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with espresso, liquorice, cacao, toasted coconut, treacle and a warming, vinous finish with a balanced coffee bitterness. Full body, sweet. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Rich, tasty and powerful. Very nice.

Can from Beerdome. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and heavy coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 090423

Can shared at the Columbus tasting. 2023-03-02. Many thanks to LKS. A A dark jet black coloured pour witha halo of mid tan head. Aroma is hot alcohol, liquorice, woody roast, liquorice, some alcohol. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody roast, light ashy, woody, salty, meaty roast. Palate is composed semi sweet, oily, moderate carbonation. ok.

Can shared in London - picked up from Nosferatu. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. Medium sweet flavour, lightly boozy, some ashy roast, black coffee, earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Ashy and earthy finish, more baking cocoa. Toothy gear.
