Brewed with Pilsner and Cystal malts massively hopped in in the continuous fashion. The flavor is complimented by the addition of Apricots. After fermentation the beer is dry hopped with irresponsible amounts of Amarillo hops.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home prior to seeing the band Radioactivity, which will be good! Appearance is a light golden brown with a moderate white head. Aroma is hoppy with notes of apricot, really nice leafy hop aroma. Taste finishes equal parts tart and bitter, apricot has a very nice flavor to it, nicely balanced between fruit and hops. This one’s a real winner.

Good grief, I’ve never said anything on this beer.
Okay, well here goes.
For the most part, I’ve had this in pint glasses and I think once or twice in a snifter, but funny thing is, I think I’ve never paid attention to what it looked like in the snifter, hmmm......go figure (there’s probably too much Alaskan in me these days, hahaha, go figure)
The appearance was always a nice amber to brown color with a decent one finger white foamy head that dissipates at a nice pace to a semi-filmy lacing.
The aroma, woah, absolutely freakin’ awesomely apricot to peachy goodness filling a super nice semi-bitter piney hoppiness running about the nose.
The taste was mostly bitter but lead to a nice semi-sweet citrus-ness concerning itself to try to run itself about a nice aftertaste and ended up leading to a fairly same finish.
On the palate, this one shows a nice sessionable quality running about it and still lends a hand to a nice carbonation running about its body and shows that there is nothing overbearing of the sorts on any end.
Overall, good fruit beer that shows a decent bitter hoppiness trying to come out but ultimately maintains a fairly decent background to help make an absolute stellar Spring beer to have looking out on one’s deck watching the Spring Sun go down.

12 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, 2014 bottling. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange copper color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, apricot, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Awesome aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops, apricot, and moderate malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of grapefruit, apricot, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, bread, floral, grass, light pine, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, apricot, orange peel, lemon zest, caramel, bread, floral, grass, and light pine on the finish for a good bit. Very nice flavor balance of citrus hops, apricot, and moderate malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruited IPA. All around great balance and complexity of hop, apricot, and malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft pour. A fruity grapefruit apricot aroma. A lot of citrus and fruit in this one. Pretty light flavors. Not very IPA-ish in my opinion, but overall I enjoyed this beer.

12 ounce bottle. 2014 vintage. Bright amber orange color. Small creamy beige head. Lovely apricot nose melds with piney hops. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor upfront, with subtle tart apricot notes. Mid taste is more tart apricot with citrusy, peppery hops. Finish is bitter, dry and long on the palate. Fruity, hoppy and unique. What else would you expect from Dogfish Head?

2014 edition. Nose is great slightly sourish with a nice Apricot aroma. The beer starts fruity-bitter. Nice floral hops there, but for an IPA with apricot juice I had expected more IPA. The mainpart is slightly apricot, bready bitter, a bit smooth. The aftertaste is medium to long, bready bitter, slightly floral and slightly sticky apricot.
I had expected something better. Even the "ground-IPA" is too bready with too less floral hops. The apricot-note is fine and not too sweet. --> 10/11/10/10

0.355l bottle @ Tribeca Tavern NYC. As good as clear in the glass with a light dark golden body and a lovely looking almost everlasting kinda beige - red top. (it is really red in this place so it's hard to tell the proper color). Really nice fresh aroma with, yeah, apricot and malts. Some grassy hops and a little trace of lemon zest. The mouthfeel is soft oily and the carbonation is just below average. Fruity almost a bit tropical flavors here. It has a red-malty thing going on, little bit of lemony juices also appearing. A little bit of cacti? Nice enough but not wow-moment in the taste to be honest. 10.06.2013
