Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with a medium sized foamy cream/straw head and excellent lacing. There’s malts and lactose in the aroma, plus an undercurrent of yeastiness. Malts again in the mouth. Plus cola chocolate and plum, all overlaid with lactose. Hints too of tar, liquorice, toffee and yeast. Finish is dry and slightly fruity. This is very nice indeed.

Bradford Beer Festival 2023. Black with an off-white head. Dense tasting roasted malts are abundant with a similar nose. Has a bitter finish.

Cask at the Cardinals Hat Lincoln, Almost black colour with a tan head. aroma and taste are malt and roast bitter, Slight sweet chocolate. rich body.
