Tap @ EBF 2008. Apple syrup and licorice in the aroma. Sweet, slightly tart flavor with licorice and apple syrup. Disappointing.

@EBF2008. Deep brown, close to black colour with a small off-white head that leaves some lace. Aroma is liquorice, some leathery notes, smoked wet wood and a bit toasted toffee as well. Flavour is smoked wet wood, leathery, mild liquorice and ripe fruits. A bit dull and thin flavour.

Draught at EBF 2008, Copenhagen, Denmark. Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, peat - smoke. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 120908

On tap @ EBF 2008. Almost black body with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, some caramel, liquorices and tar. Flavor is roasted malt, bitter coffee, dry fruit and tar. Complex and quite heavy.

(On tap) Hazy dark brown with an orange hue. Malty and vinous with a sourish touch. Medium body with old woody accents and hard roasted malt and overripe fruit. Subdued bitterness - in spite of the name. On the verge of turning bad I think. 120908

Dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of licorice, figs and raisins. Flavour is sweet dried fruits, with a hint of tartness. Unpleasant oxidation and hop bitterness.

Draught at EBF. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Week but nice. Moderate bitter flavor. Bad prune notes. Average finish. Oily palate.

++Draught at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen.++ Near black. Syrupy coffee aroma. Sweet with dextrose, black currant and metal. Mushy unfirm body. resiny bitter finish where rusty metal dominates. Very rough and unrefined.

From tap. Pours pitch black. Aroma is mild chalky and smooth chocolate base flavour. Dry and towards dusty and almost chalky base flavour with a mild bitterness coming through. Dry and yet chocolate smooth malth finish.
