Can, online from Craft Metropolis, London. Pours deep brown towards black with a beige cap. Aroma: liquorice, treacle, dark fruits. Taste: moderate sweet & bitter, rich, treacle, demerara, dark fruits, dried fruits, umami, booze. Medium body with light carbonation. Enjoyable but I preferred the double

Can ordered from Ghost Whale, Putney. Aroma has liquorice and coffee (not OTT) with sugared berries (like my Gran before she'd even tasted the Crumble). Opaque dark brown. Light beige head recedes to the rim. Tangy liquorice, coffee and roast. Molasses and berries. But it's the bitterness that is most prominent. Medium bodied... is. Thin cream. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. No complaints here for whatever it is.

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Wingmane for this one. A clear reddy mahogany brown coloured pour with a fine beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, layered nutty malts, figgy pud raisin, spotted dick, . Flavour is composed of layered malts, nutty, raisin, cakey malts, warming alcohol, mellow booxy cake. Palate is semi sweet, mellow carbonation. Really nice.

Panda at home, thanks to Dave, 10/04/22. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a good sized khaki head. Nose is dark malts, chocolate, toffee fudge, tobacco, dried fruits, nutty. Taste comprises toffee, dark malts, light spice, fruit cake, tobacco, cocoa powder, brown bread, earthy. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Far from a Mild as you know it but a tasty drop ... may as well be an English Strong stylistically ... Mild by name only!

Keg @ Lauter, Falmouth. Supped outside in the fading afternoon sun. Pitch black, no head. Aroma of rich dark treacle. Very good depth of flavour, dark treacle, brown sugar, dark candi rock with mild coffee hints and a deep rich sweetness that draws you in. Exceptional.

Keg at The Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Nose is treacle toffee, plum pudding, liquorice, black cherries. Taste is liquorice toffee, raisin, cola, chocolate caramel. Sweet malty finish. Very nice.
